*DNA is a longest macromolecule that represent the genetic meterial of cell.

*Chemically DNA is the double bonded helical polynucleotide chain which interlinked by hydrogen bond.

*Each DNA strand made by four types of deoxyribotides thats DANP,DGMP,DCMP,DTMP.

HISTORY

*DNA was discovered in 1869 by Swiss researcher Friedrich Miescher, who was originally trying to study the composition of lymphoid cells (white blood cells). Instead, he isolated a new molecule he called nuclein (DNA with associated proteins) from cell nucleus.

STRUCTURE OF DNA

*DNA is made up of molecules called nucleotides. Each nucleotide contains a phosphate group, a sugar group and a nitrogen base. The four types of nitrogen bases are adenine (A), thymine (T), guanine (G) and cytosine (C).
